When Shipment Data Lags, Operations Slow

Operating across a high-volume parcel and freight network, the organization relied on shipment data that was not available when decisions needed to be made.

Data was typically captured after drivers completed their routes, limiting visibility into freight in motion and constraining the ability to plan proactively. This created a disconnect between real-world operations and system-level visibility.

The Solution

Capturing Freight Data at Pickup

The DDC Group deployed DDC Sync® Capture, a core module of the DDC Sync® Data Platform, to digitize shipment data the moment it enters the driver’s hands.

Capture is a key component of a comprehensive data orchestration framework, enabling real-time data intake from the field. This feeds data into downstream workflows across operations, planning, and finance.

The solution was enhanced to support both freight and parcel workflows within a single application, eliminating the need for multiple systems and manual handoffs.



By enabling drivers to capture bills of lading and parcel data in real time with GPS tagging, the organization created a continuous, connected data flow from the field to the back office.

This provided immediate visibility into shipments, allowing teams to plan earlier, allocate resources more effectively, and accelerate downstream processes such as billing and customer updates turning captured data into operational decisions.
