The DDC Group Sets Governance Standard for Responsible AI with ISO 42001 Certification
The DDC Group becomes one of 350 companies to secure new ISO 42001 Certification
July 23, 2026 - The DDC Group today announces it has achieved certification to ISO 42001:2023 – Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS) in the United Kingdom. As the world's first international standard dedicated to the management of artificial intelligence, ISO 42001 provides a formal framework for governing how AI systems are designed, developed, deployed, and monitored.
The standard sets a high bar. It requires organizations to demonstrate that AI is used ethically, responsibly, and transparently across its full lifecycle. DDC now operates a formally governed AI Management System, integrated into its wider ISO framework, that puts clear structure behind every stage of AI adoption.
“This certification is less a compliance checkbox than a public statement of how we operate,” said Anthony Bootman, Chief Information Security Officer at The DDC Group. “We are responsible stewards of AI, with accountability built in from the start, providing our people and our partners confidence in the security of their information and ethical approaches to innovation.”
In practice, the certification confirms that DDC has established clear governance and accountability over how AI is used across the business. It structures risk, AI impact assessment processes, and controls spanning design, development, deployment, and monitoring. Security, privacy, and data protection principles are embedded within its AI solutions, and the company can now provide independent, third-party assurance to clients, regulators, and partners.
"AI without governance is a liability, not an asset," said Julian Lamont, CEO of The DDC Group. "We move fast on technology because we've done the hard work on accountability first. Our clients should never have to choose between innovation and control. We deliver both, and now we have independent assurance to prove it."
The certification confirms DDC's use of AI is governed and controlled rather than improvised, a meaningful distinction as AI moves deeper into critical operations. It ensures AI-related risks are consistently identified and managed. The achievement reflects a coordinated effort across multiple teams and reinforces DDC's broader philosophy: to improve critical business processes with services for tangible results.
